How to use BestTeacher

1. Sign up free with your phone number, then add each child (ward): class, school and town.
2. Find a teacher. Pick the subject, lesson type, day and time. You see only verified teachers who are free then, with their photo, experience and rating.
3. Send a request. When the teacher accepts, pay for 1, 4 or 8 lessons in the app.
4. Follow progress. After every lesson the teacher writes what was covered and the homework. You can chat with the teacher in the app.

Sign up yourself and book your own classes. If you're 18 or older you can start straight away. If you're under 18 and on your own, you can also start straight away. Otherwise your parent or guardian gets a text code and approves your account at bestteacher.academy/approve.

Sign up with your Ghana Card, certificate and a photo. Once verified, tick the times you're free each week, accept classes near you or online, and get paid by MoMo for every lesson you teach. No fee to join.

Prices are fixed by level and shown before you book. Pay per lesson in the app (MoMo or card), or choose the monthly plan: one bill a month for all your classes, 5% cheaper, sent automatically, with optional automatic card payment. Teachers are paid only for lessons they actually deliver, and you can report a problem within 48 hours of any lesson.

Every teacher's Ghana Card and certificate are checked, and their photo is approved by our team. Parents and BestTeacher can read every class chat, and teachers can't message a child privately.

Yes, every district in Ghana. Type your town on the Areas page. If it's missing, you can add it when you sign up.

Use the Website | App switch at the top right. To put the app on your phone, open bestteacher.academy/get-app. Already have an account? Sign in.

1. Add your ward. Home → Add ward: name, class, school and town. For SHS, also their programme: General Science, General Arts, Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts, Agricultural Science or Technical.
2. Find a teacher. Tap Find. Choose subject, lesson type (virtual, at home or at an agreed place), the start date and a time that suits you: a usual time or your own start time. Classes repeat weekly on that day. Compare teachers by photo, experience and rating.
3. Send a request. The teacher accepts or declines. You get an alert.
4. Pay for lessons. Open the class and choose 1, 4 or 8 lessons. Lessons start once paid.
5. Follow progress. After every lesson the teacher writes what was covered and the homework.

Home → the monthly bill card, or Classes → Monthly plan. One bill covers every running class for the month, 5% cheaper than paying per lesson. We send it automatically on the 25th and remind you on the 1st. To stop paying by hand, turn on Pay automatically and pay once by card: we'll charge that card on the 1st of each month. Lessons you've already paid for are taken off the bill.

Prices are fixed by level. If you're shown a MoMo number and reference, send exactly that amount with the reference; your lessons are added when it arrives. Unused lessons can be refunded if you end the class.

Open the class and tap Report a problem under that lesson within 48 hours. We hold the teacher's payment while we check. To stop a class, tap End class.

Each class has a chat with the teacher. Tap Messages or Chat on the class. You and the BestTeacher team see every message. To let your ward join their class chats, edit the ward and tick "Let them use class chats". For anything else, open BestTeacher support in Messages.

SHS students can sign up themselves. If they name you, you'll get an SMS code: enter it at bestteacher.academy/approve. You're then linked, and their classes show on your Home.

Edit the ward and set a 4-digit PIN. Your child logs in with the BT-code shown and that PIN, and sees only their classes and homework.

1. Under 18? Your parent or guardian approves your account with the code we texted them. Tap "Send a new code" on Home if they didn't get it. On your own with no parent or guardian? Choose that when you sign up and you can book straight away.
2. Find a teacher. Tap Find. Your core subjects and your programme's electives are listed first. Choose subject, lesson type, a start date (up to 3 months ahead) and a time, either a usual time or your own. You'll see each teacher's photo, experience and rating.
3. Send a request, then pay for lessons on the class page. Your parent can pay too.
4. Chat with your teacher in Messages. Your parent and BestTeacher can see class chats.

Classes → Monthly plan: pay one bill a month for all your classes and save 5%. Your parent can pay it too.

Once linked, your parent sees your classes and lesson notes, can pay for lessons, and can read your class chats.

1. Get verified. Upload your Ghana Card and certificate in Profile. Parents can book you once we verify.
2. Add your photo. Profile → Profile photo. A clear, smiling photo of your face gets more bookings. We check it before parents see it.
3. Set your free slots. This week → tick morning, afternoon or evening slots → Confirm. Do next week by Sunday 6pm. Parents see you first at those times; they can also ask for other days and times, and you choose what to accept.
4. Accept requests that fit. You see the address for home lessons after accepting.
5. Teach only paid lessons. The class page shows how many paid lessons are left.
6. Log each lesson after teaching: what you covered and the homework.

You earn a fixed share of each lesson you log. It's ready 48 hours later and BestTeacher sends it to your MoMo. See the Earnings tab.

Each class has a chat with the parent (and the student if the parent allows). You can ask the parent questions before accepting. The parent and BestTeacher can read every chat, so keep messages about lessons. Your profile is the person icon at the top.

In Profile, SHS subjects are grouped as Core and then each programme's electives (General Science, General Arts, Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts, Agricultural Science, Technical). Tick every subject you can teach; shared electives like Elective Mathematics appear once.

In Profile, type a town or district to add it, or add a whole region. Can't find a place? Choose "Add it" and pick its district.

See your weekly classes and the homework from each lesson. If your parent allows it, you can message your teachers in Messages. Your parent can see everything here too. Ask your parent if you need a new class.

Open bestteacher.academy/get-app on your phone. On Android tap Install; on iPhone use Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen. Switch between the website and the app with the Website | App button at the top right.
